# 1. Satellite operators

There are a number of commercial providers of VHR imagery. Below is a non-exhaustive list of missions currently orbiting and collecting data, together with the maximum spatial resolution they can collect:

* Maxar
 * WorldView-2 (50 cm)
 * GeoEye-2 (46cm)
 * WorldView-3 (31 cm)
* Airbus
 * Pléiades 1 (50 cm)
 * Pléiades Neo (30cm – just launched)
* Satrec (Korea)
 * Komsat (50cm)
* Planet
 * Skysat (50 cm)

Whilst the polar regions are not as well served by commercial providers as the rest of the world, there is now a large archive of imagery collected by [MAXAR's satellites](https://www.maxar.com/constellation) which can be exploited.

MAXAR imagery is therefore often the go-to choice for Antarctica.
