The Mapping and Geographic Information Centre (MAGIC) at BAS offers geospatial training to staff.

The following guides are available:

This course can either be instructor led over the course of about 3 hours, or can be self-led in your own time.

This guide provides a curated list of online resources that can help you develop your skills and knowledge in EO, from basic concepts and applications to advanced techniques and tools.

A set of standalone tutorials which are inspired by the requests we get as part of our long running MAGIC Helpdesk. These are designed to provide more skills and experience in using GIS and other geospatial tools, data and techniques.

Guides on using BAS and other mapping services within Desktop GIS and other mapping applications.

We run 6 bite sized training seminars per year for BAS staff. These have been running for a number of years now, and are recorded for internal use. The pages here were put together to supplement the drop-ins and provide some written summaries of key points and further information.

We've developed these pages to provide specific GIS training for BAS staff going in to the field.
